Favourite shopping spots Amsterdam

Last week, I went to Amsterdam for an appointment and got some time left after to visit a few of my favourite stores! First was Raak, a popular multibrand store with a nice ambiance and  upcoming brands. This store is familiar with famous Dutch people because they dress a lot of them at different events.

Next was the famous flagshipstore of Supertrash, a Dutch brand established by Olcay Gulsen. This brand is growing so fast and had her own first fashion show at the Amsterdam fashion week! The clothes are very glamorous, feminine, but wearable. The fabrics and quality are well known for this brand while the average price range is not that expensive (€50-200).
Supertrash brings out a magazine every season with trends, updates about the brand, interviews, favourites and a lot of photographic collection material. I got the magazine while I was fitting on some jeans. Finally I bought a nice pair that fits me very good!

After this little moment of happiness, (jeans are soo hard to find) I followed my way to the new concept store of Monki. A Swedish brand that is in collaboration with H&M since last year. They have opened their first store last January at the Kalverstraat in Amsterdam and I was very curious about their collection. The store is very bright and colourful from the outside as well as the inside. The collection contains trendy short blouses and tops with a huge differentiation of wide and harem pants. Some pieces were matching my style, but not all. I could see the target group of this brand are girls with also highly interested in fashion but more non-commercial and creating their own style mixed with a lot of different colours and fabrics. The store seemed to be full with fashionista’s and the fitting rooms were filled with girls with huge amounts of clothes. Well, Monki definitely got his name in Holland with a huge number of fashion girls following, so we’ll be waiting for the next store to open! Also Monki brings out a magazine every season with information, trends and stories from fashionistas. Next magazine will be launched next week at the store in Amsterdam, so if you can, join them!

At the afternoon I had to end the day with a visit to the recently opened flagship store of H&M. For so many years they are #1 of the leading chain of clothing stores in Holland and a part of every Dutch girl’s wardrobe. This 109th Dutch H&M store is the image of the clothing company and all the concepts, including the home collection are available. The building is a classic one at the dam square accompanied by Madame Tussauds, De Bijenkorf and the Dam palace. Of course I did spend a lot of time at this beautiful store enjoying and looking at all the clothes and different concepts and styles.
